Video Clips

There have been a lot of clip shows on T.V. You know the kind that shows a short clip of a video that shows something deemed to be entertaining. The clip can have something gross, funny, amazing, stupid, dangerous or even painful in it. We all love to see what is going to happen next. I want to spend a few minutes going over some of the different shows and some of my favorite clips from those very shows. These shows have been around since the invention of the camera basically. There have been many iterations of them but they all have 1 thing in common, the general public just can’t get enough.

Let’s start by going over some of the different shows that have aired through the years. We all loved the classics like Dom DeLuise. He would do short clips that were funny. His show evolved through the years and in all of its forms it always tickled my funny bone. There were several iterations of this over the years. Some details changed but I remember that huge laugh of his in every one of those shows. If you ever got to watch them you will know just what I am talking about.

Next, I would like to talk about America’s Funniest Home Videos as I remember it through the years with Bob Saget but recently it has been rebranded a bit as AFV with host Alfonso Ribeiro. Both of these hosts do an fine job with the show but I was very fond of Saget myself. He was definitely my personal preference. Either way, it didn’t really matter, the show was not really about them. The shows stars were always the clips. I have had more fun watching hours and hours of this show than most any other show. There were just so many hours off original airtime that it is hard to compete with in this category. Remember the height of the home video craze? Everyone was recording everything. It could be the most mundane of experiences but if someone was holding a video camera all to often that is when the real magic would happen.

The most recent of these shows that I enjoy is Rediculousness. It is hosted by the Skateboarding Legend turned Actor Rob Dyrdek and his friends Steelo Brim & Chanelle West Coast. This is another gem if you ask me. Many of my friend prefer the lude and crude Tosh.0 but I can’t stand that show because you never know when there will be some over the top video pop up out of the blue. I am down for a good time as much as the next guy but enough is enough sometimes. You know what I mean…
